The Power Dumbell from BECO is a water resistance training tool that can be used as part of an aqua aerobics workout in the pool for an upper body workout. Use these lightweight dumbbells to push and pull through the water to give you coordination, balance, strength and flexibility in your body.
Purpose: To create buoyancy and water resistance that pushes against you making you work harder to move your arms in the water which will increase your upper body strength.
Shoulders: Raise the dumbbells with your arms stretched out at the sides of your body to work your shoulder muscles.
Pectoral muscles: Bring the dumbbells together in front of your body to work those pecs!
Tips: Any exercises that you do in the gym with free weights you can do in the water with these aqua dumbbells with little chance of being injured. Wear an aqua belt and use the dumbbells whilst you are water jogging for an allover workout.

Just what I needed for aquafit it saves queuing for one of the baths
Although quite pricey compared to the regular aqua dumbbells you can get everywhere, these larger Beko ones did not disappoint. They work your muscles about 50% harder than the lighter types and are very solidly constructed. The curved straps not only make them easier to carry around, they allow you to exercise your legs by slipping them over your feet and holding the dumbbell in place. You can do leg lifts, jumps, jog and pump with them staying firmly in place on both feet, not just one at a time - if you can balance! I've been doubling up ordinary weights in aqua classes to get enough resistance, and while these aren't quite so hard to use they are much easier to handle. Trying to hold two dumbbells together with each hand was really straining my hands; these are so much easier to use and you can really concentrate on doing the moves fully when using them for a harder workout.
I love these dumbbells for Aquafit classes at my gym pool. I bought the medium ones which are perfect for my arthritic hands. The grip is nicely cushioned and the resistance in the water is perfect for me, my arms are definitely stronger since using them.
